Schilt Publishing is a publishing house specialized in high quality photo books. In working together with LUX Photo Gallery, Schilt Publishing sets a logical step in bringing more attention to the work of top quality photographers

Photography – and in particular documentary photography – has stolen my heart over the last ten years and Schilt Publishing will befocusing purely on top quality photography. What started off as a secondary activity at the turn of the century has now become my primary source of inspiration I encourage you to read through this catalogue at your leisure. If you take the trouble to do that, you will become aware of two things: the wide variety and the superb quality. This is due primarily to the photographers themselves, unique professionals whom I admire immensely. But we also have a brilliant team of designers – predominantly MV LevievanderMeer and Heijdens Karwei, both with studios in Amsterdam. Time after time they succeed in producing original and breathtaking books. And of course we mustn’t forget the unrivalled printer Wachter GmbH, in Bönnigheim (Baden- Württemberg, Germany), where I have virtually all my books printed.
Over the years I have built up an exceptionally fine relationship with the many staff members at Wachter, who never cease to amaze me by managing to make the impossible possible. My respect and friendship for all the people involved in making the production of my books possible – photographers, authors, editors, designers, lithographers, printers and binders – is immeasurable. None of this would be possible without your support. I thank you.

And there is also another unique company that is playing its part in making this dream come true. Because producing stunning books is one thing, but selling them is vital. The infectious enthusiasm with which the Thames & Hudson sales team has gone to work to make things succeed, combined with their unparalleled knowledge of the business, will be crucial for the future of Schilt Publishing. I consider myself blessed to have been welcomed into such a warm family.

And last, but certainly not least: I pay tribute to all booksellers and buyers of books around the world. Without you there would be no Schilt Publishing, it’s as simple as that.
